"State of Grace" Top Ten
A friend emailed me today to let me know "State of Grace" had made it to a top ten album covers list on Amazon.com. The list is entitled "Favorite Black & White Album Covers". SOG comes in at number 9.
The list was created by a photographer who goes by the name "Soaring Heart". According to His/Her comments He/She has never actually heard the album, but the cover may persuade Him/Her to purchase it. Thanks Soaring Heart! Hope you dig the music as much as the cover art. Here is a link to Soaring Hearts list: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/listmania/list-browse/-/2Y90V8M3DHR4M/ref=cm_lm_dp_l_1/104-6345705-5442353
I've been receiving some wonderful emails about the new album. I really appreciate it and I am thrilled with the amount of nice words coming my way. I can't express my gratitude enough.
Many of you have inquired as to what the photograph on the cover of the new CD is. It is a photo from the 1920's taken somewhere in Mississippi, photographer unknown. It was provided by The National Archives. I was given permission to use it in July of this year. The photograph is actually an old train car turned on it's side in the middle of nowhere. It just happened to have a womans' face painted on the front of it. I thought it was metaphorical for where I was while I was writing most of the material for this album, upside down in the middle of nowhere. Just made sense to me. Anyway, hope that takes some of the mystery out of it for you.
In the near future there will be a store available through the website with several different style T-Shirts for sale. My friend Zeckle from Loud Merchandise will be taking care of the store for me. Thanks Zeckle!
